NORD provides solutions for the power transmission industry consisting of gear reducers, motors and intelligent electronics controllers which optimize system energy efficiency. These units yield savings of up to 40% in operating expenses compared with conventional drives. In many plants with a wide range of conveyors, presses or pumps, the overall power consumption is largely made up of the energy demand of power transmission equipment, which makes more efficient drive technology especially attractive. NORD's high-efficiency solutions utilize special designs and materials, such as larger copper windings and special shielded metals within the stator of a three-phase motor. Higher expenses are quickly compensated for, since the power bill makes up 98% of the total cost of ownership of almost all electric motors. NORD's energy efficient motors comply with EPAct, NRCan and NEMA MG-1 standards. Due to intelligent gear design and the use of quality lubricants, mechanical wear is reduced and maintenance requirements are very low for NORD drives.
